FAQ
Questions buyers ask, answered plainly.
How TellStay scores account health, connects to Salesforce, flags renewal risk early and handles your data, and what the free December 2026 design-partner pilot involves.
Scoring
Health scores and renewal risk.
How does TellStay score customer account health?
TellStay reads your CRM, support tickets, call transcripts, email, Slack and Teams channels, product usage and configuration, and scores every account across five health dimensions: Commercial, Adoption, Technical, Relationship and Outcome. Each account gets a band (Healthy, Watch, At risk or Critical) with the top reason and the evidence behind it. The same inputs always give the same score.
Does AI calculate the health score?
No. Scores come from deterministic, versioned rules. AI only explains a score, and it is optional. TellStay’s scores, Renewal Room and reports work with AI turned off.
Can I see why an account’s health score changed?
Yes. Every assessment is kept with the rules version that produced it, and each change is linked to the dated signals that caused it. Rule updates never silently rewrite history, so you can see why an account was red on any date.
How does TellStay give early warning of renewal risk?
Signals that look small alone are combined into one health view. In the sample Ironvale story, a release, a rise in API errors and a ticket surge move the account to At risk weeks before renewal, with the evidence cited. Each CSM sees their own book ranked by renewal risk, and the Renewal Room lays out every renewal by Overdue, 0–30, 31–60 and 61–90 days, with a recovery plan and evidence next to each one.
What happens when data is missing?
Missing data is shown as Unknown, never as zero, and new accounts say “Too early to call”. TellStay doesn’t pretend to know what it can’t see.
Connections
Salesforce and every other signal.
Does TellStay sync with Salesforce?
Yes. TellStay uses a read-only Salesforce connection. Your admin confirms what is read before anything is scored.
Does TellStay write anything back to Salesforce?
No. The connection is read-only, and TellStay never writes back to your CRM. Salesforce free-text fields are excluded at ingestion, which keeps notes and personal detail out of TellStay.
Can I use TellStay without Salesforce?
Yes. You can start with a CSV export of your accounts and product usage.
Which data sources does TellStay read?
TellStay reads Salesforce (read-only), support tickets from Zendesk or Jira Service Management, call transcripts from the note-taker your team already uses, email from Gmail or Outlook, Slack and Teams customer channels, product usage and best-practice configuration checks. Every connector is read-only, and TellStay’s AI flags frustration, complaints and escalations across all of them, with the source linked.
Pilot
The free design-partner pilot.
What does the free TellStay pilot involve?
It’s a concierge pilot for a small cohort of design partners. You give a 60 to 90 minute setup call, read-only Salesforce access or a CSV, and 30 minutes a week of honest feedback. You get your whole book scored and explained, a My book view for every CSM, a Renewal Room for your next 90 days and direct input into the product.
When does the pilot run, and what does it cost?
Onboarding for the December 2026 cohort runs 1 to 12 December 2026. The pilot is free for December 2026 design partners, and partners who continue get 50% off for their first 2 years. Pricing after the pilot is shared with pilot partners, and you decide at the end whether to continue.
Who is the pilot for?
VPs and heads of CS, Post-Sales directors and CROs at B2B software companies where Post-Sales owns the renewal, and whose accounts live in Salesforce or can be exported to a file.
Is a DPA signed before the pilot starts?
Yes. A data processing agreement is signed before any data flows. It lists our subprocessors.
Data handling
Your data and AI.
How does TellStay keep each customer’s data separate?
Every record belongs to one workspace, every query is scoped to it, and automated tests check that scoping on every change. See our security page.
Is AI used on our customer data?
AI features are off by default, and an admin turns them on per workspace. For pilot data, AI stays off until our AI provider confirms zero data retention in writing. Only a bounded set of signals is sent, never your whole CRM, and customer text is treated as data, never as instructions.
Does TellStay send anything to our customers on its own?
No. TellStay drafts follow-ups, and a person decides what goes out. Nothing is sent to a customer without your approval.
What happens to our data at the end of the pilot?
We delete it on request or at the end of the pilot and confirm in writing.
Is TellStay SOC 2 certified?
No. TellStay does not hold a SOC 2 report or any security certification today. Our security page lists what is in place, what is ready for every pilot and what TellStay does not hold.
Who makes TellStay, and where is it based?
TellStay is a product of AvenOrbit Labs Inc., a Canadian company based in Ontario, Canada.
